Cherry Turnovers – Yay!

Today is National Cherry Turnover day – hip hip hooRay! Oh how I Love cherry turnovers…

I like to eat them one layer at a time. Peal the layers of pastry off and then finish off the scrumptious cherry pie filling.

I supposed I could learn how to make them, but for now I’ve just decided to doodle them and save my spare myself the tempation.

I’ve recently joined club penguin. My love for the flightless bird has instilled a curiosity about anything penguin. I also have 2 children that are determined to spend the majority of their inside time playing something, somewhere on the computer, so I am always looking for new and better avenues for them to try.

goodepenguin.gifNow, I find that a good chunk of my kids’ play time is no longer game sites I don’t understand. They’d much rather run around an ice covered world filled with  our penguin pals — AND it’s ok for me to run right alongside. We play games, shop for clothes and igloo accesories — hunt for hidden treasures and even just hang out together. What a great idea! It’s fantastically fun to be able to get involved in activities that they’d otherwise like to explore alone.

Penguins Helping Peru

The August 15th earthquake in Peru has tens of thousands displaced, and killed at least 500. Families without shelter nor medical supplies — they need our help. Our good friends over at unEarthedTees.com have started an initiative to help and the penguins and I wanted to join in.

So we came up with our own little plan to get involved…

Tuesday's Topic Procrastination

I blog every Tuesday as “Tuesday’s Topic”. I pick a topic eeach week and make a point to blog about it on Tuesday. This way, I blog at least once a week, even if I don’t have nee designs, or sales or anything else specific to blog about. Now this week, Tuesday came and went… I had no topic and have 900 gazillion different tasks I wanted to complete before lunch.

I thought about blogging all day. I have set up a reminder on my calendar so every week I remember to blog… so all day my Tuesday blog reminder popped up, and all day I kept clicking snooze. That’s not procrastination.. thats outright avoidance isn’t it? ha!

So here I am, it’s Wednesday and I’m bloggin for Tuesday. Is that poor time management, procrastination, or job security?

I was going to add a fun new JGoode design to this post, but because I don’t currently have any procrastination t-shirts (which I should). I didn’t want to prolong the posting just to design something new— it would be Sunday before I posted for Tuesday.

Some days procrastination isn’t really procrastination, its prolonging productivity.

Colorado Day

Today is Colorado Day. Colorado became the 38th U.S. state during this week in 1876. I am a 4th generation with 3 kids — the family’s 5th generation Coloradians. The state’s red river dirt is in our blood.

I’ve moved away and lived in a number of other states over the years, but I always manage to come “back home”. Colorado is where I’m ment to be.
