Tuesday's Topic: Children

Today is Universal Children’s day. Yay for Kids! – I’m a mother of 3, by the way. Yes, I understand, “yay” is all a matter of perspective — and no, I’m not dilerious.

What is children’s day?

“… to be observed as a day of worldwide fraternity and understanding between children. It recommended that the Day was to be observed also as a day of activity devoted to promoting the ideals and objectives of the Charter and the welfare of the children of the world. … ” from UN.org

Then there is Children’s day:
“Children’s Day, was proclaimed by President Bill Clinton in October 2000. He declared that it be held on November 16th.” from wikipedia

Sounds all very complicated, or I need to partake in the afternoon nap more often. Either way, I personally think every day should be a day for children because every child is a little miracle and a big blessing…. children are our futures and they are our inspiration.

If only we could each look through the eyes of a child more often. Life might just then be a little less complicated a lot more sincere.

  1. What a great topic! The quotes are perfect – my favorite is

“Boy, n.: a noise with dirt on it. ~Not Your Average Dictionary”

That sums up my son when he was a kid exactly – he was a real dirt magnet – I could barely get him out of the bathtub and dried off before he was dirty again it seemed.

The little girl design with the curly locks is magnificent – I don’t ahve a granddaughter but it would make a perfect t-shirt gift! It would also look great in a pink and or purple bedroom as wall art – fine art prints for children’s rooms can be terrific gifts – my step grand-daughter really enjoyed the flamingo I gave her as a gift a couple or so years ago.

I mused on parenting and grandparenting and holiday gift ideas. You can read the rest of the story at
