In my house, we do something called "lights out Tuesday." On Tuesday, from when I pick up the kids until they go to bed, we don't turn on any lights, we don't use the oven, we don't watch TV or play games, anything that takes electricity. It's fun for the kids, and it cuts down on the power we use--a lot! (get it, lot, L.O.T., lights out tuesday, harr dee harr harr...)

I bought canvas bags to carry my groceries in so I won't be getting/using as many plastic bags - I need to design and create some then buy for me to take to dept stores with me when I go shopping so I can stop getting plastic bags there too.

I am leaving the flourescent (sp) lights off in my office at work as much as possible. That is much easier to do spring, summer and fall in Houston Texas than during the winter - last week ... I did not turn my office lights on even once and neither did any of my co-workers so perhaps they are getting used to me not having them on. Plus my eyes like it much better too!

I'm waiting for the light bulbs to need replacement to swap out for the energy efficient bulbs. I am regualting the heating and cooling for maximum off or least on settings on a daily basis.

Swapped out regular light bulbs for energy efficient bulbs that take less energy and last as long as 9 regular bulbs. So saving in more than one way :) Less production, less glass, less power to run them. Using fans to circulate air to be able to leave the heat/air conditioning lower. Exploring the use of solar panels back in Vegas. All that sun should be used wisely!
