Creativity grab bag

I’m participating in the FaveCrafts blog hop again this month, yet I don’t have one specific project to share. Instead I thought I would show you a few things I’ve been up to and point you in the direction of my writings on a few other websites.

Here are a few of the things I’ve been working on this past month.

  1. A scrapbook page layout inspired by Eileen Hull’s 3-D house die. I used paper patterns I designed along with craft chalk and some hand made embellishments. This project is posted in more detail on my blog at the Memory Keeping Collection. My original creation using the actual die cut can be found on my Home sweet home post. (upper left)
  2. Kid craft day was a fun activity at the local rec center. My son’s 2nd grade class met up for an afternoon creating fun projects while the parents had the opportunity to mingle and get to know each other a little better. I think any time there are craft supplies around, you’re bound to make a new friend. (upper right)
  3. I also run ProjectsforPreschoolers.com, a site geared towards sharing activity ideas for preschool aged children. I try to use what I have around the house, however after recently being inspired by DollarStoreCrafts.com we took a trip to the local Dollar Tree. We came home with a whole pile of goodies to make loads of new projects. (lower left)
  4. A simple color scheme presented to demonstrate how you can come up with some really pretty results with very few supplies and even fewer colors. Read the entire article, Don’t Be Afraid of Two Tone at the Memory Keeping Collection. (lower right)

Don’t forget: Last week’s Sizzix blog hop project, cute mini cake, and my 5 tips for smart DIY projects on Suze Orman’s Money Minded Moms.

Coming up: I’ve been working on my portfolio and getting myself organized so I can exhibit at the CHA winter show this January. This will be my first time exhibiting anywhere and I’m so excited!
